This project involved the landscape design around a large existing townhouse in a Conservation Area in Notting Hill, West London. Fruition Properties restored the distinctive Victorian building facade and converted the house into five new luxury apartments. The existing garden was re-configured to provide entrance spaces, parking, a shared garden and private amenity space. The property sat on a tree-lined street and a number of mature trees were retained and protected as part of the design.

Planting was chosen to provide a green setting for the building throughout the year. Yew, Hornbeam and Box hedges provide an evergreen structure to the space. This was enhanced with a diverse mix of shrubs and herbaceous perennials to suit the shady setting under the existing trees. This included a range of ferns, woodland grasses, flowering perennials and spring bulbs. Species were chosen to increase biodiversity while remaining easy to maintain. Hard landscape materials were high quality and in keeping with the architecture to provide a consistent look to the scheme.
